I found the way to San Jose

Remember that one time when Husband left me for 42 days?  Well, I'm sure you've figured out that he is finally Home. Safe. And. Sound.

It was decided long ago that I would drive out to get him so that we could spend some good times together out there in the lovely state of Cal-i-forn-i-ay.  Thankfully, my parent-in-laws (parents-in-law..?) and my two brother-in-laws were kind enough to accompany me out there so I wasn't driving in the desert all alone.

So here is our adventure in the form of pictures and words.  But mostly pictures because those usually do a better job.  At least in my case.

On our way we spent a night in Reno. And I discovered that A LOT of old people hang out at casinos in the morning.  It was the most hilarious thing to me.  It was like they were all thinking, "Ok, I am this old now.  Why not?"

The next morning we headed to the Sacramento Temple in Sacramento, CA.  After that we were on our way to San Jose.

For any of you married people out there that kind of miss the thrill of the dating days... Just separate yourself from your spouse for six weeks (okay, this is not actually recommended...)  But seriously, I was so nervous and excited that my mother-in-law had to drive the rest of the way.  It was so strange experiencing that feeling again.  My stomach was in knots and I could hardly stand it.  I had no idea that I would be that giddy.

Boy, did he look haaaaaaandsome!  He'll probably be so embarrassed that I wrote that, but it is the honest truth.  I could not stop staring at him.  Or hugging him.  Or sneaking kisses when no one was looking... and let's be honest- I wasn't that careful (sorry Devyn and Quinten...)

And then we were off!  I think I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.  Because this is already getting longer than I intended.  So if you have any questions or would like me to elaborate, let me know.  And no one will, which tells me I am making the right choice and by being done talking... Right. Now.

And if you were wondering... Yes.  It was as perfect as it looks. And we already want to go back.

The Letter "M"

My Man and Me, Moseying around, playing Music,
and just as Merry as two can be.
Alliteration at its finest.
Please excuse the kissing.
We don't try to be huge cheese curds.  We just are.

P.S. I was going to post the video of Ty singing "Call Me Maybe", but I think he would have killed me.  Good stuff, it was.

San Jose pics coming soon!  Fiiiinally.

It's that time...

for picture overload!  I thought that summer would be the time where I would blog a lot more because I wasn't busy with work.  Not so much. So I will try my best to recap without being too wordy.  Husband was so-long-farewell for 6 weeks.  While he was doing smarty pants stuff at his nuclear chemistry internship at San Jose State, I spent time with some of my favorite people.

Week 1:  Working.  Okay, that wasn't fun.  In fact, it was quite the opposite.  We were planning on how to implement the new writing core for next year.... I am already getting bored talking about it.  Next!

Week 2:  Spent a lovely week in Sun Valley, ID.  See post below.

Week 3: Flew out to Milwaukee and developed a new crush.  Don't be alarmed.  He is only six months old.  Megan and Jared were packing up their apartment and getting ready to embark on their new adventure to Seattle. So I got to spend lots of time with the adorable one to "help" them out.  Also, it was lovely spending more time with Megan and Jared because it had just been way too long.
Week 4, 5, and 6:  Living again at Mom and Dad's.  Which wasn't as weird as I thought it was going to be.  It was definitely much better than spending the three weeks alone.  And the great thing was that I got to see more of my favorite people that I don't get to see that often.

Steven, Whit, and the kids came up from Arizona and soon after, Megan and Jared came to join us.  And with Nat and the parents already there, we were finally all together!!  Except for my missing husband, of course.  Which was lame.  But besides him being missing, it was so lovely.  I really can't think of a group of people I would like to be with more.  For realios.

So here are some snapshots of those favorite peeps.
At the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake.  Definitely worth your while.

Fourth of July BBQ with the Whiting's.

Told you I had a crush.

At the Bountiful Temple.  Husband was still missing and Natalie was dubbed babysitter.  She was a saint.
Two more.  Because I like them.

The end.
For now.
