Never Eat Soggy Wheaties

Student: Hey, Mrs. Gish! Remember when you taught us "Never Eat Soggy Wheaties" to help us remember the order of North, East, South, and West?

Me: Yeah...

Student: I thought of another phrase you could use!

Me: Oh great! Let's hear it.

Student: Never Ever Smoke Weed

Me: ................ (trying to hide a laugh of shock and slight amusement of his obvious creativity and instead making a face that looks like who knows what...)

Student: What? Doesn't that work?

Me: Yes. Yes it does.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Let's first begin with the infamous Santa-face cookies.
These puppies have been around for three generations now- first made by my Grandma Gerri.
And as Ty and I made these, I got to thinking.... Hey family. When did we decide that it was a good idea to live so far away from each other? I just don't recall ever having that conversation....
Just saying that I wish we could have ALL been together making these. That's all.
(moving on...)
Finally- our poster above the t.v. matches the season.

First Christmas tree as a married couple!
And you can bet your stockings that it is real.
As we drove it home I kept thinking of that Allstate "mayhem guy" commercial and picturing our tree rolling right off the roof of our car at every turn. But we made it home safe!

P.S. If you haven't seen the "mayhem guy" commercials, check them out. They are some of my favorite.
Thank you Hobby Lobby for these little gems.
I couldn't resist...
Thanks Mom and Megan for the wreath and jingle bells! This was very fun to put together.
And I even waited until after Thanksgiving to do all of this.
Aren't you so proud?
